Industry Day at ECIR 2021 will be held on April 1, 2021, immediately after the regular conference program. It will bring together IR researchers, practitioners, analysts, and consumers interested in all IR-related issues concerning knowledge transfer across academia and industry.
This year, we also encourage presentations of research works carried out during student internships and showing how interns contributed impactfully on real-world products with innovative ideas. We also seek proposals for talks about interesting collaborations between academia and industry, or about open problems in industry that are of interest to academic and industrial researchers. Submissions about topics relevant to ECIR in general (as listed in the call for papers: https://www.ecir2021.eu/call-for-full-papers/) are encouraged.
Proposals
Proposals should be no longer than 2 pages. Please include:
- A brief company portrait
- A short CV of the presenter(s)
- Title and abstract of the presentation including the reasons why your experiences should be interesting to the ECIR audience
Note that submission implies that at least one author commits to attend ECIR 2021 to present the work, if accepted. The authors of accepted proposals will be invited to submit a 1-page abstract of the talk, which will be published online.
The proposals should be submitted electronically through the conference submission system.
